has new details. >> cnn was just able to confirm that, the united states ambassador to libya, his name is chris stevens, was killed in a rocket attack on the american consulate in libya. you are looking at a picture of him. we kentucky agreed contract with the u.s. mission in benghazi tells cnn he actually saw the body of stevens in the street there in benghazi after the attack on tuesday night. it happened in an eastern libyan city. just to give you an idea of where this is located. reuters is saying the u.s. ambassador to libya and three other embassy staff were killed in this rocket attack. it appears at this point that stevens and the three others were fleeing the consulate when they were killed. i want to show you him once again. he has been working in and out of libya for about five years. he was appointed by president obama as ambassador to libya in may and he has been helping them transition after the fall of muammar gaddafi. it is all just developing now. we are still waiting to hear from the state department. but it is the very latest, we can confirm the united states ambassa
